overview CCi testing About CCi Acoustical Testing

Cambridge Collaborative specializes in diagnostic acoustic and vibration testing to confirm and correlate dominant noise transfer paths and mechanisms within analytical models.

These models can then be used to perform efficient design studies at phases of development where test hardware is not yet available and to complement and reduce overall test effort.

Cambridge Collaborative has expertise in creating customized test plans that provide diagnostic information for understanding and correlating the dominant noise transfer paths and mechanisms at the frequencies of interest.

Cambridge Collaborative is uniquely experienced and specialized in performing acoustic and structural tests to characterize structural properties, damping, and transfer mechanisms at high frequencies.

Cambridge Collaborative has over 40 years of testing experience. We specialize in automotive, aerospace, naval and heavy industry testing.

We currently offer the following:

Standard Acoustic Testing:
-measuring high-frequency damping
-reverberant acoustic chamber testing
-wind tunnel testing
-free-field acoustic testing
-reverberation time / absorption testing
-general damping measurements
-impedance measurements
-testing of dominant airborne and structureborne noise sources
-testing of dominant airborne and structureborne transmission mechanisms

Field Testing:
Electric power generators and enclosures using the following standards:
-SAE J1074 Engine Sound Level Standard
-European Commission 2000/14/EC CE Directive
-EN ISO 3744: Acoustics - Determination Of Sound Power Levels Of Noise Sources Using Sound Pressure : Engineering Method In An Essentially Free Field Over A Reflecting Plane
-ISO 8528-10: Reciprocating internal combustion engine driven alternating current generating sets

Ground vehicles
Rail systems
Heavy machinery

Aerospace testing:
-Acoustic qualification and acceptance tests for spacecraft
-Simulating acoustic loads to determine transfer functions and component response levels

Vehicle interior noise and transfer path correlation:
- anechoic or free-field simulated acoustic sources
- reverberant field excitation of vehicle
- structural excitations and resulting structureborne noise and vibration
- extensive experience designing and overseeing wind tunnel validation testing for vehicle interior noise and transfer path correlation.
